TheBallBlog.com has not done a brand new set of articles since the NBA Draft back in June, but that changes now! As the title suggests, I will be power-ranking all 30 NBA teams going into the NBA season, which starts in one month. The #1 team will be the best one, and #30 the worst. Each team's projected record was a general rule in making the rankings, but other factors, such as strength of division and conference, were taken into minor account. I have also separated each team into one of four tiers, as follows:
1. Title Contenders -- these are the teams who will make deep playoff runs as top seeds, with legitimate shots to win it all.
2. Playoff Locks -- these are the teams who are almost guaranteed to make the playoffs as middle seeds and probably a deep playoff run as well, but unlikely to go all the way.
3. Playoff Hopefuls -- these teams have a chance of making the playoffs (some will not make the post-season at all), but even the ones who do are unlikely to get anything more than a low seeding and will probably face a first-round exit.
4. Bottom Feeders -- these are the teams with little to no chance of making the playoffs, and whose best interest it is in losing games rather than winning them.
Power Rankings:
Boston Celtics
Brooklyn Nets
New York Knicks
Philadelphia 76ers
Toronto Raptors
Chicago Bulls
Cleveland Cavaliers
Detroit Pistons
Indiana Pacers
Milwaukee Bucks
Atlanta Hawks
Charlotte Hornets
Miami Heat
Orlando Magic
Washington Wizards
Denver Nuggets
Minnesota Timberwolves
Oklahoma City Thunder
Portland Trail Blazers
Utah Jazz
Golden State Warriors
Los Angeles Clippers
Los Angeles Lakers
Phoenix Suns
Sacramento Kings
Dallas Mavericks
Houston Rockets
Memphis Grizzlies
New Orleans Pelicans
San Antonio Spurs
